As reported in June this year, Cellula Robotics Ltd are designing and building the tool for the STEMM-CCS release experiment which will place a curved pipe into the seabed. Watch the animation below, produced by Cellula to see how this will work.

 

 

Once the curved pipe is in place, this will allow the injection of CO2 into the seabed in order to perform a controlled release of CO2. The pathway of the CO2 to the seafloor and into the water column will be tracked and monitored using a variety of techniques and new sensor technology (see 'Our Work' for further details.
