RRS James Cook set sail from Southampton on Thursday morning on its transit to the experiment site in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland. After a minor heatwave over the Easter break, the temperature was a little chillier as they waved goodbye to the National Oceanography Centre.

Scientists and engineers on board are now busy with final equipment preparations ready for arrival on site in a couple of days. All the news from onboard can be found at stemmccs.blog
